How to edit PDF text and images
- Upload the PDF and open the page to change.
- In Edit text mode, click text, then type the replacement or choose Delete. New text keeps the original's position and size.
- In Images mode, click an image to replace or remove it.
- In Add text mode, click the page, type, and drag the text into place.
- Review the pending edits and click Download PDF.
Tips
- Edited and deleted text is removed from the page content, not covered up. When text sits inside an object that can't be rewritten safely, the editor covers it and tells you.
- PDFs embed only the characters they use, so replacement text may fall back to a similar font.
- PDF text doesn't reflow. For more than a line of changes, edit the source document if you have it.
- To check an edit, select text in the downloaded PDF. The new text should be there and the old text gone.
FAQ
Is the original text removed or hidden?
Removed from the page content. Text inside some embedded form objects is covered instead, and the editor reports it.
Why doesn't my replacement text match the original font exactly?
The PDF only embeds the characters it used. Missing characters fall back to a similar font.
Can I edit a scanned PDF's text?
No. A scan is a picture of text and needs OCR first. You can still add new text on top.
Can I change several things before downloading?
Yes. Edits queue in the pending list until you download.
Does my document stay private during editing?
Yes. The PDF is parsed, edited and rebuilt in your browser.
